Liana is a shrine maiden of light. She is a direct descendant of Sophia. She is the younger twin sister of Lána. Lána is the Dark Princess and a subordinate of Böser.

She is pursued by the Rayguard Empire for an unknown reason involving Alhazard. She eventually becomes a companion of Erwin's.

Liana along with others make a brief appearance in Langrisser III Secret Scenario ?2 along with other heroes of legends.

• Liana returned to her village to open an orphanage but it soon ran out of money. A prince from a neighboring village who was entranced by Liana's beauty offered to finance her efforts. The orphans grew up in good health and went on to begin their own anti-war movement. Liana married the prince and they lived happily.
• She returned to her home village to open an orphanage. Afterward, she traveled the continent to promote peace with Erwin. Before long she built a strong reputation and people came to finance her work. The orphans grew up and continued her work. Eventually they would be the ones who brought about peace. She was remembered by future generations as a holy woman.
• Liana returned to her hometown to open an orphanage, but she could not secure funding. An old king from a neighboring land said he would finance her orphanage if she married him. She reluctantly agreed, and so the orphans were saved and grew into fine adults.
• Unable to find financial support for her orphanage, Liana took on hard labor to earn money herself. The work strained her body until she finally collapse. Starving and unable to realize her dream, she breathed her last.
• Liana returned to her hometown to open an orphanage, but was unable to find the money to keep it operating. A man promised he would support her orphanage if she married him. Being pure of heart, Liana didn't realize the man only wanted her and had no intention of helping the orphans. Realizing she had been tricked, she grew tired of life and left on a journey all alone.
