List of Crest of Gaia Scenarios

Disaster first struck in the remote eastern city of Diehl.

Dark forces surrounded the town during the night, and at the break of dawn they laid siege to the city an unmatched savagery.

The bodies of the dead lay covered in blood; the people trembled in fear.

A remote patrol left its nearby barracks to defend Diehl's citizens in a desperate battle.

Böser marched the Army of Darkness on Catle Elthlead as the war escalated.

His undead troops subdued most of the countryside with little resistance.

The only hole preventing his total domination of the region is Fort Auger.

A division of his army now strikes at the fortress to solidify his dark grip.

The fortress must not fall!

Böser's troops crossed the Roleck Plains and neared the north-flowing river.

The only path across the Roleck is a long bridge.

If the Army of Darkness forces its way across, Böser will have a direct route to Castle Elthlead.

The enemy must be held off until Sieghart's main forces arrive to offer support.

Lord Rauvard's troops have been deployed to the riverbank and await your command.

Sieghart's army arrived in time to prevent Böser's invasion of the plains.

The Dark Lord has taken a position on the Rall River from which he is pillaging nearby ruins.

Ships under the banner of Elthlead were deployed to evacuate the citizens of the Rall River basin.

Unfortunately, the fleet has been intercepted by marauding sea monsters.

To cut off Böser's supply line from the Roleck Plains, soldiers from Elthlead have been ordered to carve a path from northern Ernst Valley through the Resty Mountains.

Sieghart decided to engage Böser on the southern plain.

However, as his forces drew near to the mouth of the gorge, flaming arrows rained down on his men.

With the exit was blocked by dark forces, Sieghart's army found itself trapped and outnumbered once again.

When dawn broke, the commander gazed out at the sea. The Laethdik Straits were calm, too calm.

Moments later, a horse of monsters surfaced from the crashing waves.

The commander sprang to action to rally his soldiers into formation. His men waited with their bows drawn.

Only the handful of men stationed here stand between the monsters and the ruins.

Dark forces neared the ruins of Rall Tower. Known as the Soul of Gaia, the Rall Tower concentrates all of the world's Holy energy.

Böser's plan is to cut off this energy which gives the Army of Light his strength.

Sieghart and his forces have formed a shield around the ruins' decrepit walls: withdrawal is not an option.

“Goddess of Light – source of all Holy energy – grant us they power!” Sieghart shouted.

Shimmering clouds spread across the sky and from them descended a great White Dragon.

The enemies split ways after disembarking at the Rall River. One force advanced on the tower while the other marched into Riggs Forest.

Coincidentally, auxiliary troops from Castle Elthlead were passing through the forest on their own march to the Rall Tower.

The forces collided, deep in the heart of the forest, with neither side fully prepared for the battle.

The Army of Darkness found itself lagging behind after Sieghart and his troops crossed the Rall River.

Both sides glared at each other in silence, as if testing their strength.

Böser's troops moved first, summoning an army of sea monsters from the darkest depths of the river. It was an army of evils that had been long forgotten.

The forces of darkness scattered before Sieghart's stalwart defense. The terrible loss shattered the morale of the Dark Lord's troops.

Desperate to reverse the situation, Böser led a direct assault on the Throne of Light: Sieghart's Castle Elthlead. However, exhaustion from past defeats has left the demonic army unable to cast battle magic.

If Elthlead falls, the world will be engulfed once again by the blackest powers.

With the demons circling Castle Elthlead, Sieghart drew Light's Glory and entered the fray accompanied by his royal guards.

Thus far, the battle between light and dark has been confined to the land and sea.

With the lands below enveloped in the flames of war, units are now clashing in the clear blue skies.

Aerial knights mounted their hawks to reclaims the skies from the Dark Lord's monster horde and swept onto the field like a pure, white wind.

Responding to the recent shadow tactics used by the dark forces, the great Bellwood Dragoons rode out to meet Böser on the plains of Roleck.

After crossing the Roleck River, the dragoons came upon an enemy encampment on the other side of the hill.

A lone scout returns to the tower to report their findings while the remaining warriors rode out to engage the enemy.

Reinforcements bound for Rall Tower sustained heavy casualties in Riggs Forest.

Somehow, they managed to break through and ender the ancient structure.

Their passionate devotion inspired residents of the Rall region, descended from the ancient Gilgard Knights, to rise up and follow the banner of Elthlead.

The victor of this battle will control the Rall River and its surrounding lands.

The Laethdik Channel, a main sea route, has been severed by the Dark Lord's naval forces. All Rall supplies must now be transported over land.

However, an opportunity to reclaim the channel has appeared. The enemy's naval forces are spread too thin to be effective,

If Elthlead can reclaim control of the Laethdik Channel, all remaining enemy forces will be isolated and the forces of Light can receive fresh supplies,

With Böser's forces away at the Roleck River, the time to strike is now.

It's time for Elthlead to reclaim the waves!

The Golden Desert long acted as a natural barrier, preventing the flames of war from crossing into the Resty Mountains.

Rather than continue the stalemate at Roleck, Böser turned his sights to the sands.

Wise Sieghart anticipated his dark ambitions and stationed troops in Roxeth.

But Böser, who already controls Ernst Valley, must claim the desert to secure the only remaining path to Castle Velzeria.

The troops in Fort Roxeth scrambled to mount a defense.

The battle at Fort Roxeth was won by a hair.

The main forces of Castle Elthlead pursued the fleeing demons, but fatigue got the better of them and their pace slowed to a halt.

Both armies were drained of morale and unable to face each other in combat.

As they camped to recover their strength, a long enemy company of cavalry came to ride down the remaining forces of light.

For the destruction of Darkness! Glory to Elthlead, the kingdom of Light!

The time to strike is finally at hand.

To march on Velzeria, the army of light has to wrest control of the sea, land in Daltis and intercept the enemy forces in Roleck.

The shoreline lay sprawled before Sieghart's men. Dark forces lay ahead of the holy dragon knight and archers. It was time for the troops to put their training to the test.

An auxiliary enemy battalion met them on the shoreline.

Even though the attack caught Sieghart by surprise, his men pressed onward.

The battle in the straits dealt Böser's naval power a devastating blow.

He returned to an inlet north of Daltis, set up base, and began to sack the auxiliary fleet of Sieghart had stationed nearby.

The attacks interrupted the Army of Light's supplies and reinforcements from the Daltis region.

Admiral Eiferlock led Castle Elthlead's naval forces into battle with the demonic infantry.

The sun beat down on the dunes of the Golden Desert, searing away all life. The soldiers' sandals burned their feet and slowed their pace to a crawl.

Despite being under endless aerial attack, they pressed onward to Diehl.

But in the dry land, there was no water to be found. They marched only because stopping would mean certain death.

Sieghart's troops continued their march through the desert, as they had every day since leaving Fort Roxeth.

Having liberated Daltis, Sieghart turned his sights to the North Tower, the last barrier before the barren lands of Velzeria.

The main enemy forces were camped on the Roleck River, making an eastward march extremely dangerous.

The Army of Light would instead march north through a pass in the Rest Mountains.

Though the tower is a stronghold of Darkness, its barracks are occupied by relatively few soldiers.

The Dark Lord was separated from his rear guard after landing in Dastur.

Desperate to reclaim the upper hand, he engaged the Elthlead troops stationed on the banks of the Roleck River.

However, during the crossing his monster army was caught in a pincer attack by Holy warriors who were waiting in ambush.

This decisive battle will determine which army becomes the master of the Roleck and its neighboring regions.

After being stranded, the remnants of Böser's troops in the Lurveck Mountains pulled together to resist Sieghart's advance.

To gather enough men, they were forced to pull out of Direth Valley.

The Land Dragon Corps, led by Lord Arkaloth, engaged them in the Golden Desert to drive Darkness from the south.

Victory is essential if Elthlead is to launch an attack on Castle Velzeria.

Lord Arkaloth led his troops to the field, raised his fist in the air and bellowed, “Charge!”

Sieghart's troops drew near Diehl, the Capital of Sand, having repelled Böser's forces in the latest attack.

The sandy city – the site of the first battle with Darkness – has become a tomb.

The scent of rot envelopes the streets, now inhabited by the walking corpses of Diehl's residents.

The soldiers were silent as they clasped their swords and prepared to rush the zombie horde.

Tears brimmed in their eyes as they prepared to cut down their former friends.

After liberating Diehl, the Elthlead troops pressed onward to the east tower.

Like North Tower, the eastern stronghold has been taken over by Böser.

Most of the Army of Darkness remains locked, holding a defensive line in Dora and at North Tower.

Their forces are too spread out to mass and meet Sieghart with their full might.

The forces of Light cannot afford to give Böser's monsters time to regroup.

At last, a party of Elthlead troops pulled out of Direth Valley and charged on Velzeria.

Sieghart knew that the time for his final battle against Böser was at hand.

Darkness spread like a shroud across the sky and a Dark Dragon descended from the clouds, summoned by the Dark Lords unholy ceremony.

Suddenly, the ceremony was interrupted by a white light that pierced through the clouds. From the crack in the clouds, a White Dragon descended onto the battlefield.

The final battle was begun.

“As our reconnaissance forces marched on, we met a band of strange dragons,” wrote a soldier.

“The strange beasts had bellies of steel and breath of fire.”

The battle between Light and Dark tore open a wrinkle in time that transported the men from their ancient fields to a new battle.

Where the wrinkle left them was a mystery. They knew only that new servants of Darkness lay before them on the field.

“What is this place?” cried a confused soldier.

The base had vanished in a flash, and the men were spirited away to an unknown land.

Mysterious monsters across the field charged forward.

An arrow rained down to pierce the head of a soldier beside the tank. If the men cannot find a defensive formation, they will die for sure.

“Enemy targets coming in at 12 o'clock! Fire off a few rounds of H.E.!” the commander bellowed.

They faced off against a horse of monsters who should only exist in myths.

“We do not know how we came to be in this land, but the locals have been most kind to us,” a soldier wrote.

“It does not seem we will ever return to Japan. I wonder, is our Lord safe?”

“Currently, we are defending a village from some nasty goblins that have been attacking travelers,” he wrote.

“Knights from the village have followed us on our missions, but their steel has been of little use.”

He set down his journal to ride into battle, shouting, “On my honor, my katana shall strike down these monsters!”

“What on Earth? It seems some bandits are attacking our rear forces,” a soldier said.

“Could they be after our food rations?”

The enemy rode down from the northeastern slopes in a wave-patterned attach.

Ever since defeating Böser, the forces of Elthlead have been hampered by bandit attacks.

Could the bandits be more of Böser's men?

Their curved blades offered no answers.

“Everyone, to arms!” cried the fatigue-clad commander.

His soldiers quickly rushed to position to defend the city from the monster that had emerged from the depths of the ocean.

As the men piled into their Type-74 tanks, the sounds of AH-1 choppers filled the night.

This beast is like something out of one of those movies I saw in the 1970s,“ the commander said with a belch.
